I think Solis actually weighed in at 256 lbs. Not a big difference from 252 but it's a big difference from what he weighed as an amateur and what he should weigh for his stature (6'1).

I'm afraid Solis will turn out to be a wasted talent.

      Ouch,

That is a massive difference. I think the freedom is making him cut off training, he isn't forced to do it so he takes the time off instead...

      He looks like Butterbean now

He definitely needs to get at least down to 235, seriously 256? Last time I checked he had a conditioning coach who got him down to 245 I think, but that was awhile ago. As long as he keeps winning I mean it's not too important now but when he fights someone who actually matters it will be. He's more overweight then Samuel Peter but hey at least he's no James Toney. If he can get down to 235, he can get a title in a few years say 2010 is Odlanier's year to get a title.

Lots of fatties do good. Sanders creamed Klitschko, Toney holds his own against all, Solis is beating these nobodies easy.

It's not all how you look that makes a great fighter, but because they aren't in the best shape, we don't always get to see a Bowe-Holyfield type bout.
Van Sickle wasn't much so Solis probably didn't get up for him anyways.
Could cost him down the line, but surely not now.

                  Solis doesnt impress me.

Gamboa is the cream of the crop out of the 3 recent defectors. Barthelemy already lost.

I see Solis is being trained by Orlando Cuellar hopefully he can get his weight down, I dont think Solis should weight anymore than about 215-220lb.

Solis needs to get down to about 230 or even mid 220s, he was way too heavy against Van Sickle.

Off topic but I'm looking forward to seeing the ex-Cuban amateur Erislandy Lara fight again, he looks very solid as a professional so far.
