Ring Magazine pound 4 pound list

Good posts in here, but some ego's were deeply wounded when Margarito battered Cotto. You can always make your own list but I trust the RING's list.
Juanma was a prospect before he blew out Ponce. Before that he was fighting mediocre fighters.....a few more named/rated fighters then he will rise up in the lists.
Even if you have the best skill in the business, if you don't step your competition up you won't be rated. For example, Juan Manuel Marquez for a long time was the greatest counterpuncher we have ever seen, but didn't make the list until he stepped up and fought Pacquiao to a draw. There are also a lot of skilled fighters better than the fighters in the list but will never be known until they fight highly rated fighters.
Everybody wished they were Margarito when he destroyed Cintron and Cotto.
Calzaghe after a reign of 18 defenses finally stepped up and fought better competiton including highly rated Kessler and P4P top fighter Bernard Hopkins (who beat Tarver and Winky). Tarver and Winky were both on the list of P4P when Hop defeated them.
Floyd was already in the list even before Pacquiao. He fought and won against Castillo, Corrales, and Chavez. He maintained his status by fighting game Mitchell, Ndou etc....... He only got to top 1 when Bernard lost his fight to Jermain.
But I would definitely have Mijares higher up on this list than Margarito.
Also, I wouldn't put Hopkins on there and would add Calderon. Unless Hopkins beats Pavlik then he's right back in there.Comment

You Don't Think The Floyd Nuthuggers In Here Overrate Him?
He Had Good Wins At 130 And 135. But Hernandez Was Past His Best And While Castillo And Corrales Are Good Fighters They're Not Greats.
Who Did He Fight At 140? Ward's Better Half?
Who Did He Fight At 147? The Guys He Should Have Fought At 140?
But If You Read How The *****s Talk About Him You'd Think He Beat Arguello At 130 , Duran At 135 , Pryor At 140 And Benitez At 147 Or Something.Comment

That's pretty much where my head was at too. Hopkins at 4? Margarito shouldn't even be on the least and if anything at 10.Hopkins at 4 is a joke and Margarito at 6 an even bigger one. P4P?!?! Who has Margarito beaten that's bigger than him? He can't deal with southpaws either. Slow-ass, one-dimensional, average-power having brawler. Paul Williams has much more skill than him. Cotto at 10 is also laughable.Comment

I don't give **** with those *****s, Floyd is not overrated with regards to being no.1 in the p4p list, I will not argue with who had beaten. I think it was you who's underrating the likes of JCL and Corrales. You Don't Think The Floyd Nuthuggers In Here Overrate Him?

Wow you're underestimating the careers of Corrales and Castillo greatly. Castillo got his first world title from long term reigning lightweight champ Stevie Johnston. Then he goes onto beat the only other man to lift Johnston's title and faces his most grueling fight against Maweather. That fight doesn't prove that Mayweather is overrated, it proves that Castillo is underrated by casual fans like yourself. Then, past his prime, he goes onto beat the good version of Diaz, Casamayor, Lazcano, and Corrales. Then you have Corrales, who took the absolute hardest defenses at SuerFeather, before getting outclassed by Mayweather. Again, this doesn't prove that Corrales was overrated, it shows that Mayweather is that boxer that comes along once in a generation if we're lucky. I'm not even a big mayweather fan, but to deny his skill is to deny that you even follow the sport. After being humiliated by Mayweather losing every round and getting knocked down 5 times, he goes up a division to win a title against Casamayor in two unforgettable battles, and has fight of the year against Castillo winning by TKO to unify their belts. Let's also not forget that he beat undefeated Freitas by knockout. And then you go on to say that Bernard was never that good even in his prime. Dude just stop posting here...Wow A Phillippino That Knows Something About Boxing Aside From Pacqiao. What's The World Coming Too?
I Wasn't Saying Juanma Was P4p Level Yet. Just Used His Win As A Comparison To Margarita's Win Over Kermit.
Joe Calzaghe Is ****. When The Best Win Of Your Career Is A 43 Yr. Old Man , You Ain't Fought No One. Hopkins Wasn't Even That Good In His Prime.
Floyd's Career Is Overrated. Castillo And Corrales Were Good Fighters Nothing More. Baldomir Was Garbage. Zab Had Skills But Mentally Weak Like Cintron. Ricky Is One Of A Long Line Of Overrated Brits. Oscar Is A Shell Of His Former Self , That'll Become Evident When He Loses To Pacqiao.Comment
