Oscar?

I was talking with my Filipino friends here at work about the Oscar vs Paquiao fight and I was telling them that you couldn't compare Oscar to the fighters that Paquiao has faced, I was trying to explain that he's not the typical come forward with no defense type of fighter, If any you can compare him to Marquez but allot bigger and with more power, they don't have the same style but they fight smart. What do you guys think?

I dont think Oscar is nearly as tactical as JMM. JMM loves to set traps and work off of other fighter's aggression. He also can sustain an attack with both hands while Oscar is still primarily a left hook based fighter. Both have good footwork but Oscar tends to bounce around in the ring more while JMM plants his feet and works on cutting the ring off.

to be honest there isnt anyone on Mannys resume that even comes close to what type of fighter Oscar is.

JMM skills are far better than dlh's even a prime dlh. JMM is one of the best counter punchers in the sport and even all time. That's why his fights with paquiao are so great. But really it's dumb to compare dlh to any of pacquiao's opponents because none of his opponents have been as big as dlh.

maybe but IMO Morales was a willing warrior, Oscar was that way up until 147 then he became more of boxer.

The point is that I was trying to explain that Oscar Is a diffrent type of fighter from a straight foward type of boxer. He's allot more defensive and marquez is the only fighter that Paquiao has faced that has some defensive skills thats why I compared them.
