The lightweight division is deeper than the welterweight right now. We are talking about the winners (Marquez/Guzman/Diaz) and Pacquiao is gone, one of these guys should fight the looser who deserves it more (Katsidis/Campbell/Santa-Cruz/D.Diaz) or maybe Valero, Humberto Soto if he moves up. So many possibilities.

All these talented fighters going at it and making all these great fights while Pac, the number one p4p fighter, is MIA in the lightweight division. Tsk, tsk, tsk, as the filipinos often say .

Im with xcaret, i kind of don't want to see Marquez v. Diaz cause one of them gets eliminated but im still surprised how Gb matchs its fighters -tough, tough, tough seems to be a trend for few years now that i've notice for sometime its good but could also be bad we had Castillo and Corrales each finish themeselfs as top fighters, could be the case with Marque and Vasquez, and again possable with Margarito and Cotto. Few times now due fighters take 1 or 2 easier fights before again going after the tougher fights. I think in a way promoters are beliving the hype that boxing is dying when its not. Last week i was reading an old ring magazine of mine and back in 93-94 there was an article that talked about how boxing was dieing. Boxing and the Earth, two subjects where people periodicly predict its fall but thank god, never happens.

If Guzman vs JMM ever happens, you will learn why JMM refused to fight Guzman and chose a lesser opponent in Rocky.

If Guzman wins expect Soto to come up in weight and ask for the deserved rematch. Guzman didn't look the fittest against Soto but theres no denying that Soto gave Guzman all he could handle.

Now you put Guzman against Marquez ****, thats a fight i'd like to see for damn, sure. But i also belive Guzman would box and/or run away from Marquez more so then he did with Soto. But would be an interesting fight, exciting depending on how Guzman comes to fight or how well Marquez will get to Guzman. I would definetly like to see this fight. Marquez is fighting Casamayor he ain't scared of Guzman thats for sure.

I forgot to mention that if Guzman would ever fight Rocky, you'd see Guzman run faster then 100m gold medalist in the Olympics.

Barrios v. Guzman fights him on even terms. -great fight by the way.

Barrios v. Rocky, has to box and stay away from Rocky or else he gets what happened to him eventually, Barrios gets stopped.

Rocky ain't no easy opponet which is why, Guzman has never even mentioned Rocky as an opponet.

I would much rather see marquez vs guzman. Diaz to me needs a little more tim before stepping in the ring with someone like Marquez.

thats not true. The IBF, WBO, and WBA are all on the line. The story saying the IBF wouldnt be on the line was total bs.
