These two fighters are almost alike... Both are come foward fighters that look for the Knockout, Both leave themselves open while throwing wrecklessly, Both have serious power, Both lack defense, Both havent had any serious competition in their weight classes, Both are exciting fighters, and both talk Crazy ****....

Both of these fighters are alomost alike... But one of them gets Hated on becuase he couldnt and Hasnt fought in th US.

Just something i was thinking about..

I don't think they are similiar at all. Kirkland has shown a shaky chin. Valero has been down, but he has never looked hurt in a fight. Valero has more skills now, but Kirkland is getting better. ne is a champion. and the other is an up and coming guy. When Valero goes out and bombs you, that is when he is vulnerable. When Valero boxes, he is as good as it gets. JMO. Others think differently, but who cares. Decent thread.

Again from what I saw in Valero he did not look all that impressive at all. Just an awkward guy with a lot of power. Kirkland is faster & sharper, I don't see any similarity.

imo fighters get better when the competition around them gets better - when you know the ladder that you're gonna climb is that little bit longer and that little bit higher you'll train harder.

anyone whos a contender in the welterweight division, SMW/LHW division knows tat they havetheir work cut out but in valero's and kirklands their are no real big fighters to get excited about. imo both need to be told that they need to improve by their trainers.

So your saying kirkland looks impressive?... He went down with Conyers and came back for the KO.. The same as Valero. I didnt hear anyone say Kirkland was impressive versus Cortes. No one on these forums and no one on ESPN. Everyone said he's an Exciting Fighter that needs work on defense. Just like Valero.

I didn't say that in my last post, but yes he looks more impressive than Valero who fights like like a slower version of Caballero. He definitely needs to work on defense as well there is no denying that, but overall he is indeed sharper.

Valero had good refined technique in his last fight, and is all in all, much better and has a MUCH better chin than Kirkland. But I know what you are saying. They are both also southpaws.

valero has a title and has beat mosquera who is leagues above anyone kirklad has ever beat.....edwin has true 1 punch KO power, better chin.....and if youve seen him spar, he has pretty great technique, he just doesnt use it in figts cus he wants to KO dudes out of the ring....that being said, he fights like an idiot because of his KO power...
