    what is overtraining?

    how can you overtrain?makes no sense..sounds like a proffesional excuse after a lose to me!!!!thoughts?????????

    You can definitely over train. Without appropriate rest your performance can suffer.

        definately can be an issue. it happened to forrest becase the mora fight got moved back and he peaked too early in his training. program design is very tricky like that. i am a personal trainer and have done lots of reading on the subject, plus as a boxer, i have overtrained myself. i am going to bed and dont have time to find a good medical source, but the wiki def. will give you the basics....

            You can overtrain, training too much in training camp can lead a fighter to have very little energy at fight night.

              i asked this in mora/forrest thread but can anybody think of examples when fighters said they over trained and came back and did better next fight?

                Margarito said he was overtraning in his training camps prior to the Cotto fight, he said he cut down on sparring for the Cotto fight.

                  but why would forrest overtrain for mora??? sounds like an excuse..by looking at him on fight night it looked like he didnt train at all

                    the fight was supposed to be in feb. but pushed back to june. so he saying he had to train at high level longer then he needed to
