How much did Diaz and Katsidis get?

Just curious coz i wanna compare boxer and mma salaries. Read that Rashad Evans got $120k for his fight last weekend (plus his 60k fight bonus). Is that reasonable at all? I think it's pretty low though considering how much money the UFC makes and that Evans is one of its top fighters right now.

Sorry, i know this is mostly an mma question but i knew i'd get the answer here. THanks

liddell lost 3 of his last 4 fights and there are bigger names in the UFC now than liddell like St.Pierre, Silva and Couture. And Evans is not even a top 5 light heavyweight yet. he is still working his way up. he will be a millionaire if he ever wins the title.

Also, you have to take into consideration that the undercard fighters are also getting paid big money so the total purse is more evenly divided between each fighter in a single MMA event whereas in boxing, the main event fighters get about 90% of the total purse.

the UFC doesn't work that way. Liddell isn't the champ so they won't pay any extra just cuz he's popular. You've got to earn your pay IN THE RING. UFC has great principles that boxing should follow.

In UFC the 2 main event fighters get a standard purse AND they get a share of the PPV revenue as the main event.

Maybe that is what the $60 evans got is??? but you can bet your ass that Chuck got way over half a mil.

it was all in the argument over pay with Randy. his guaranteed purse per fight was $250,000 i think but with PPV his last couple of fights earned him around $900,000 each fight???
well thats how i remember it anyways.

Its still not the best compared to what most "star" boxers earn.

So you would rather the promoters get paid instead of the fighters .UFC fights usually do 400,000 buys or more .Fighters over there get ripped off big time .Thats why Randy wanted to leave UFC people dont get paid look at the AFFLICTION card all of those fighters were paid way better than the UFC.Dana White and his boys are pimping all these fools.

yeah i agree. btw, the 60k was his win bonus for the fight. chuck got 500k for the fight.

anyway, imo, mma fighters don't get paid enough. i know mma still isn't as big as boxing is worldwide, but i love watching the sport (as i do boxing) and it sucks that the people who make it happen(the fighters) don't get compensated enough..i really hope they get paid more for the sake of the sport. you always want to keep your "stars" happy.

from what i'm seeing, a lot of fighters continue doing this coz this is all they know. most of them have put in (and left behind) too much to turn back. maybe the UFC still isn't making THAT much money but i'm sure Dana White sure could spare a few more dollars for his fighters.
