If Emmanuel Augustus was managed properly....?

How good could he have become, the man is skilled. Mayweather went to say it was one of his hardest fights his record is pretty bad because he has been robbed, mismanaged and shunned aside by the big names and forced to fight against opposition in there hometowns. His record stands at 38 wins (20KO's) 29 losses 6 draws.

Now he's obviously at too late to change his career around because he's nearing the end of it. I definatly think if he was managed better he could have won a title possibly gone on to be greater, really is a wasted talent.

For those who haven't seen him before

I always felt he had world championship talent, but like u said he was managed bad, he was robbed, and what really hurt him was himself. I dont think he ever really took his career seriously.

Its most likely to late for him to win a world title, even though now it appears he's taking the sport seriously. But i could see him winning an IBO title.

      love watching that guy fight....

if he was managed properly and brought along with the same care as some of these prospects, i think he would have earned a good amount of dough...

i would pay for an Augustus ppv since i know i will be entertained...any boxer that can pull off kung fu moves in the middle of a fight is ok in my book

I remember him calling out hatton real hard before he got to floyd. Sadly, I had seen highlights of some of his more recent fights and he looked terrible. Had he been managed better he definitely could have been a dominant champ.

He could have won an alphabet belt.

Look at who he was force to fight 11 fights in a guy with a 21 win-2 loss record. He fought Jesus Chavez very early as well (both were prospects). 14 fights in he was against a guy with a 31-5 record, 16 fights in he fought 22-0 Ivan Robinson who went on to be a world champ who went on to be a world champ along with Chavez.

I think he took a dive for money against Allan Vester and was robbed by Courtney Burton in his hometown. A few examples of bad management

Trus me when I say this, Floyd didnt mean it when he said it was his toughest, he was just trying to give Augustus some limelight since because of his record he was/is overlooked. Floyd chose to fight the way he did in that fight because Augustus wasnt hurting him, Floyd can win against about anyone on the outside potshotting all night long. Second, Augustus gets hit too much, instead of Roger he needs Floyd Sr. as his trainer, not being a puncher and getting hit alot spells distaster. At one point he was talking about Floyd Sr. trainging him because Sr. told him he gets hit too much now he is talking about Roger training him. Whatever happens I wish the best, he is good for the sport and my son's favorite fighter.
