How much you reckon Katsidis and Diaz made from fight?

Not that much compared to the big names (Mayweather, DLH, Trinidad, etc...), but still very good by boxing standards. Being on HBO helps a whole lot.

When it was supposed to be a title fight, when Diaz still had the belts, an 80/20 purse split for the $1.5 mil that GBP was gonna put up would pay Juan $1.2 mil and Katsidis 300k.

Most likely they got paid less than that above figure, since it was non-title.

The big money comes from TV rather than ticket sales.

Look at Mayweather for instance, in the early 00s. He wasn't selling a lot of tickets, wasn't on PPV, but he was still getting millions.

Joe Mesi was doing terrific ticket numbers, but I doubt he was getting Mayweather type of money (even when he did appear on HBO late in his career).

Diaz-Katsidis was HBO, Katsidis isn't an HBO fighter. Diaz might be an exclusive HBO fighter, so he probably got a fairly nice check.
