Reigning pound-for-pound featherweight king Manny Pacquiao is set to officially kick off his rigid preparation on November 3 for his upcoming showdown with Thai ****er Fahsan 3K Battery.
In preparation for the December 11 non-title event, Pacquiao has tapped two of Mindanao's top fighters--junior welter Christopher Saluday and featherweight Arnel Porras--as his chief sparmates for the bout that will serve as his final stop before a planned rematch with Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez on February 26.
The two sparmates will be quartered in General Santos City, where Pacquiao will base his rigid training at the gym of businessman Rey Golingan.
Pacquiao, who will be getting $300,000 for this 10-round non-title event, has been doing light workouts for weeks now, and should be ready to plunge into serious training on November 3, revealed a source from the champ's camp.
Reportedly, American promoter Murad Muhammad and Pacquiao's business manager Rod Nazario are set to meet with the people who are interested to back the December 11 event this coming Wednesday, to agree on the nitty-gritty of the promotion. The group will then formally announce the event on Friday.
Among those slated to see action in the undercard of this mammoth event is Pacquiao's younger brother Bobby, who is set to defend his RP super-featherweight title against Cebu-based Dexter Delada.
Also in the card is Cebuano phenom Z "The Dream" Gorres, as well as a possible RP championship clash between bantam ruler Joel Bauya against Pedro Malco.
