HOW GOOD IS CHAD DAWSON - hypothetical match-ups

iv not really seen alot of this guy - alot of people here see him as being the next big thing at 175. atthe minute the light heavy scene is dominated by older fighters and bad chad is seen to be the heir apparent. iv youtubed him and seen little clips here and there but to be honest he doesn't seem to be all that.

the only real fight iv have seen including dawson is the dawson vs johnson fight a couple of months ago. dawson imo didn't look all that special and was quite clearly the loser in the bout, the last 5 rounds igave all to johnson. he didn't seem to have anything special about him and without mayweather as his trainer i reckon he would have got his ass well and truly whupped.

but there must be a reason why this guy is so highly rated so just give me an idea of just how goodhe is i.e. hypothetical match-ups are in the poll just vote as to who you think he can and cant beat.

also what are dawson strengths - i dont really know him as a fighter. i know that he has mayweather in his ring so he is porbably pretty good at defense and at keeping mobile around the ring but what does he have that is special i.e. good speed, strength, power, chin, timing?

Dawson has great handspeed, good power and good footwork, he's a great boxer. he doesnt however have a very good chin or stamina.

vs calzaghe L UD calzaghe has similar handspeed, less power but more experience and work rate, calzaghe would edge him out.
vs hopkins L UD hopkins is the southpaw master, only calzaghe has beaten him and he still made him look like ****. dawson doesnt have the work rate to make hopkins feel his age so hopkins experience will get the W
vs tarver W UD i think tarver could very well win this match up but as it stands he isnt young enough to keep up with dawson
vs roy jones L SD i think dawson would have his moments against jones but ultimately i think jones' handspeed is still much better than dawson's and his power probably is too, dawson doesnt have the work rate to stop jones
vs johnson (rematch) W UD many people, including me think johnson did enough to win the first fight but since then dawson will only get better and johnson is getting older, dawson will use what worked for him in the first fight to beat johnson wider.
vs kessler L KO i think this would be a great fight, dawson has better handspeed but kessler has more accuracy and power, i dont think dawson could go 12 with kessler without his chin being checked and i dont see it standing up to kessler's punches.

notice he was knocked down again and seemed to lose both the last two rounds, pretty similar case to johnson fight. he starts very, very good but finishes weak.
