Honestly, I don't know how it is guys end up thinking that type of physique is going to win them fights, when it's been proven over and over, throughout the entire history of boxing, that the best body type to have in the ring is long and lean, with an enormous emphasis on cardiovascular conditioning.

        Some examples were:
        Johnson
        Ali
        Lewis
        Robinson
        Leonard
        Hearnes

That's just to name a few. There have been many, many others who made an impact on the sport without resorting to building that type of body, and in fact, it usually proves counterproductive. Less gas for later rounds, power fades quick, punch out easy, harder to make weight (harder to drop muscle mass than body fat), and the list goes on.

That kid isn't huge, but he's obviously spending time on the weight machine that would be better spent on roadwork and sparring.

i dont think anyone here can say that tim bradley neglected his cardio...the only reason that he looks like that is by burning fat! and the best way to do that is by combining weight training and cardio.

he has REALLLLLLLLLLLLY low body fat and i think it is down to his cardio...he just has big muscles...so i would not read to much into it!

I agree. Big abs can actually be a detriment in terms of taking body shots, because muscles like that are incredibly tight. I think Manny Steward said something like that. You also have guys like Ali who never lifted a weight in there life. Skill and brains win in the ring. Just look at Jeff Lacy. Most ripped body ever, tires qucikly.
