had the fight been 15 rounds, there would have never been any controversy.

does that matter? absolutely. had Leonard vs Hearns not been 15 rounds, the fight would have ended with Leonard losing by a huge margin. same thing would have happened to Joe Louis against Billy Conn. quite a few fights could have changed had the fight been allowed to go 12.
