He's young and its happened early in his career, it wasnt a long drawn out beating either - he just got caught with a screamer of a punch and he was gone.

I dont think it will affect him Physically and even mentally he can bounce back BUT its official his chin has been checked and he has been found wanting! I cant see him making it now. Good luck to him tho im still a fan!

Also i can see them Dumping Rubio using him as a scape goat and getting with Defence supremo Floyd Snr

I'll be surprised if he comes back properly. The big problem with Khan isn't even his chin (which isn't good), it's the hype that has surrounded him from his first professional fight. Even if he doesn't know it, Khan has grown to believe his own hype and thus he hasn't really learnt from his defensive mistakes because he's 'Amir Khan: Superstar' already, isn't he? That first shot by Prescott that put Khan down would have floored virtually everyone in the division, but an elite fighter just wouldn't eat up a flush shot like that. Forget Khan's chin, his defence or lack of concentration cost him last night.

I've heard some people asking whether he can do a 'Haye' and recover to become a champion, well my answer is that the situations are completely different. Haye didn't have the national/international hype behind him when he lost to Thompson, so he was able to build himself back up quietly. Will Khan have a chance with his next 24 bouts being televised on Sky? I doubt it.

It's a tremendous shame that someone with such natural ability has been hyped into defeat. If Khan has taken the normal route to stardom I'd give him a chance of recovery, based purely on his incredible natural skill, but Khan didn't and the fact that he didn't have to work for his stardom has created his arrogance which fundamentally cost him last night.

Credit where it's due to Prescott mind. He knew Khan's weaknesses and he took his opportunity. Could be a potential champion.

Yes but surely this is going to humble him? Isn't this going to be the moment when he stops believing the hype?

I mean, I think his defence hasn't improved because he has kept winning, so he probably felt indestructible- that his offence would always be good enough. In fact, he was probably in denial about his chin deficiencies.

But after such a brutal KO, and having the embarassment of losing in front of his family and fans, he will definitely have learned a huge lesson.

I understand what you're saying about the hype but I don't understand how it's going to affect whether or not he can come back. IMHO, it's that he really now has to tighten up the defence.

Are you Amir Khan by any chance??? If not how do you know he would be back stronger than ever?? He just got knocked out in less than a minute so trust me this would hunt him for ever no matter what he becomes in life.

You can thank Frank Warren for that. The guy was trying to build up a huge star that was never even tested yet. You could tell he was in shock after the fight now that one of his biggest stars has hit rock bottom. I'm sure people will still support Khan and follow his career, but nobody will have the same sense of hope in Khan as before this loss knowing that now at any point in his career, if he faces a big puncher, theres a high chance he'll be KOed in devastating fashion once again.

I think his next oppenent will have something like 17-23 4KO as a record. He needs to build confidence again,

and it better not be ****ing Box Office.

i thought he was signed up for 10 fights or something like that so basically guarantees it will be box office from now on. but they will need to be pulling off great cards to even temp half the people who bought this fight to do so again
