Is juanma Lopez a better fighter than Cotto?

I thought Cotto would become the next Mayweather as he was coming up the ranks until he felt in love with his power, which is not a one shot ko power, a bit early. In the Corley and Torres fights particularly, you could see him abandon his deffense and just went after the KO. He showed heart but what got him to that point was his slickness, countering and good deffense. Then he beat an older but still good version of Zab and Mosley, fading late vs Mosley. By then he had problems with his trainer and seemed to do whatever the **** he wanted in the gym as well as in the fight, that cost him an L agaisnt a lesser fighter in Margarito.

Juanma Lopez, has very rare power, kinda power prime RJJ, Gomez, Rosario and Chavez had. He's a good boxer but not over agressive, he's focused, a family man, doesn't party and listens very well to his corner. As every fighter, he has flaws but kid is coming up the right way, doesn't seem to get anxious in the ring and fights his fight without having anything to prove.

IMHO, Juanma will be the better fighter someday, miguel has had many title deffenses, but Juanma's power, eventhou he doesn't rely on it will be the difference. YOur thoughts?

I think Juanma has the tools to fight top competition while Cotto lost to Margarito who isn't top competition. I think Cotto is going down, and they should have Juanma pay per views with Alex De Jesus or Luis Del Valle on them, like they use to have Wilfredo Gomez and Wilfred Benitez headlineing the PPVs.

Margarito isn't top competition? um ok.

At any rate JuanMa was impressive against Ponce de Leon, but then again DeLeon was the weakest and most flawed of the superbantam champs.
JuanMa will have plenty of chances to rise up and be a name in the division because he's still very young with a ton of upside.

I wouldn't write off Cotto yet, and wouldn't overhype JuanMa.
Everyone knew PDL had power and not much else as evidenced by the Caballero fight a couple of years back.
Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind a Caballero-JuanMa fight.

The biggest test for Juanma is gonna be Abner Mares whos the next Salvador Sanchez, Juanmas gonna go for Vazquez and I wouldnt mind Juanma vs Chris John. I wrote Cotto the F off already

not yet.people need to lay off on the whole cotto forgotten ****.he made alot of mistakes; the fact that he was outboxing marga for the first 6 rounds only showed what many thought he could do.the fact that he felt like sitting on ropes as if marga would tire out was absolutely dreadful.his ducking and dogding highlight reels where nice, his basic defense was aweful.I'm surprised he didn't try to throw the jab to the body if he couldn't get a hook in there............any way hindsight is twenty twenty, and I'm damn certain he wins the next fight.

If Juanma fights and beats Bernabe Conception on the DLH-Pac undercard and then beats someone like Rafael Marquez then I'd put him up there with Cotto. Otherwise, it's WAY TOO EARLY to put him in a league with Cotto.

I doubt he'll get all his fights PPV again, Cottos next fight is HBO, with Ricky Hatton on the undercard. I think the next star is in the lower divsions if Alex De Jesus doesnt step it up his competition and do well.

I think it is still a little to early to say. If Lopez goes down as a better fighter than Cotto it won't be because of his power. He seems to be a very smart fighter, who is more or less complete at this stage. When he fights more top guys we will know for sure.

ok.now i believe the goverment did something to you.you need to realize that even after that loss cotto is more popular than marga.that fight didn't even sell out in vegas with a large mexican american community.cotto is the man boxing was hedging there bets on.everybody loses.cotto is by no means a frail minded man.the fact tha margarito won is only a testment to the fighter he is.which was one that got little credit.

The government did do something illegal, unjust, unwarrented to me but thats American justice, they taught I was a threat and they excecuted me by firing squad using technogly beyound my ****ing comprension, i was like wtf this for me. Anyway, I'm legally insane, and disabled now for my efforts against the Neo ****s brought in by the dominiance of Mexican boxing to hand cuff me and brake every bone in my body for messing with them using youtube. But anyway Cotto was the favorite, I think Cotto got REicky Hatton'ed and thats the type of fighter to compare him with Juanma will take over the PPVs, and Alex De Jesus can dethrone Cotto using his pure boxing ability if he wasnt fighting bums in Tecate.
