Why do most posts on Khan come down to British hate?

The shed load of Khan threads is understandable, it was a devastating KO loss.

But seriously, why do sooo many people jump on the bandwagon and just use it as a weapon in much more general, British criticism?

Nationality is always going to be a factor in sport, and particularly in boxing and there's lots of hyping, exaggerating, criticism, competition, banter among the forums from all over. But the level of threads and posts along the lines of "Another British hype job" is actually un-real and often not that representative.

It really makes you question the motives of the people saying, and asks more questions of you then the Brits, whom by the way weren't exactly hyping Khan for this fight. So where's all the belief and hyping? He lost and no one cares, so where does that leave you? Just trying to find another way to mislead and piss people off, for the sake of it most likely.

If all you have to say is nationalistic un educated tripe to suite your more generally non favourable views, and nothing constructive to say on a boxer, and boxing, in a boxing forum - then don't bother.

Probably because us Limeys would be the same if say Mayweather lost. I know I'd throw a few sly digs in.

BoxingScene is a pretty agressive place, surely none of this suprises you?

I don't think the Brits have been quite so bad on recent American fights, especially where the guy winning was from there country.

That's what seems different, people from all over whom have no such allegiances to Prescott. It's just seeing a Brit lose, that's what it comes down to. It's a little sad, often off topic, not representative and with dubious motives.

I'm a Brit and couldn't give a flying **** about Khan. If anything a KO might help him get some kind of killer instinct and defence together so maybe one day I'll be a fan. But right now most Brits really do not give a **** and find it quite amusing so many ppl run around making such Khan threads which are merely designed to piss Brits off. Why are you doing it, you look silly, nationalistic, and often have the opposite effect.

He won't there isn't anyway he's getting to world level with that butter chin unless he develops a world class defense and considering he's and offensive minded fighter that isn't going to happen.

I think it is down to the fact that British fighters have been quite successful of late and the Americans do not see it is appropriate. The Mexicans and Ricans have always had great fighters however historically I don't the the British have been as strong. Now that they are in an era where they have a couple of guys who have been dominant in divisions and beating Americans, they resent it.

I think it is partly compounded by the fact that the Americans are a little light on for top fighters right now. As a complete outsider that is my take on it anyway.

Khan should be ready to fight the likes of Prescott after 17 fights if he's intending on becoming a world champion. He should have been angling for the British title before now, which is a far more worthy bauble than the commonwealth or intercontinental belts.
