Diaz hardly got touched by Katsidis. He fought a near perfect fight against a brawler. I'd say that was was way more impressive in terms of a boxing performance.

But Casamayor acutally throws punches. Why would I like that????????

But seriously, nah. Casamayor isn't even up there. I probably like Juan more. Nobody said that Juan was done after losing to campbell though. Casamayor after getting the gift, who was not losing to Katsidis by the way, was wrote off (can't blame people for this) and then said to be done.

He was supposed to get train wrecked by Katsidis and then comes out and stuns everyone by dropping Katsidis twice in the first round. Then wins the next two rounds. Losing the middle rounds and getting knocked through the ropes, Casamayor is still competitve. He's landing good shots inbtween while Katsidis is firing. Then he catches up for a little bit and Katsidis has a good round 9. Katisids comes out carelessly and Casamayor knocks him out.

Diaz while clearly kicked his ass, I felt was losing momentum towards the end of the fight. He let Katsidis start getting off combonations and then wasn't blocking as much. Diaz landed some nasty bodyshots, uppercuts, and right hands too. Diaz did a good job, but for a man who was written off, Casamayor proved he still had something and so therefore was more impressive.

More impressive doesn't necessarily mean better performance.

It's funny, Casamayor has to be the most irrationally hated active fighter on the planet by far. Casamayor's power and timing were definitely better than Diaz's, but Diaz just kept grinding him with that work rate, it's hard for Diaz to lose decisions. Diaz won more rounds than Casa did for sure, but he's also young and in his prime, and has the perfect style to win 90% of his fights.

No, he didn't IMO, Diaz dominated him, his fight with Casamayor was a give and take affair.

I could see how the KD's and the eventual KO made the Casamayor victory look more impressive, but Diaz dominated that fight tonight. I know the score cards didn't show it, but most of Katsidis shots were getting blocked and Diaz definitely landed the more effective punches the whole fight.
