Not really. Gatti had better boxing skills and athleticism. He also won more significant fights.

Gatti was a decent boxer, better than Katsidis but was easy to suck into a war. Katsidis is the new Gatti though. Gatti would start out boxing, get nailed and just brawl. Katsidis is the same. Apart form the bit about boxing.

but as far as the name recongnition and everything i'm thinking more gatti all he needs is a decent win over a fringe contender
