Yes Khan was overhyped but most level headed people have been saying that since the Limmond fight or earlier.
I almost feel sorry for him; he's had so much pressure on him since the age of 16. He was the only GB boxing representative at the Athens Olympics, every step of his professional career has been scrutinized and hyped by the media. He's a nice kid.
Against the Columbian, it was obvious that he had never felt that kind of power before. Even the opening jabs were rocking his head back. That's what happens when your promoter build your career fighting smaller, feather fisted opponents. The first genuine ****er at 135 and its lights out for Khan.Comment

Of course he deserves a lot of credit for that sensational KO but Prescott is in the radar thanks to the mileage off Frank Warren's efforts running the well oiled Amir Khan hype machine.
And about Khan, it's one thing to generate hype, another to believe in your own like it was Bible truth. They've duped a lot of gullible people, but in the end he was the biggest victim of his own hype.Comment

essentially he was hyped because he won an Olympic boxing silver medal aged 17.
Let's get this straight, he would have been hyped ANYWHERE.Comment
