My Diaz vs Katsidiz analysis and prediction

Yeah it was, I was going nuts...even though i was sopcasting it. I thought Katsidis would win, then he got dropped twice in the 1st and I thought he's gunna get TKOd in 1. Then he fought his way back and I thought he would win! Then his corner told him to step it up and he ran into a great counter shot. That KO was awesome, perfect left hand from Casamayor.

Diaz is a suffocating pressure fighter that doesn't have much power, he gets people out of there by accumulation of punches. His defense is at best average. Katsidis on the other hand is a wild brawler with good power and bad defense.

As demostrated by Campbell, the way to stop Diaz unrelenting pressure is by standing your ground and fighting back. Katsidis will no doubt fight back and I don't see him backing down. I think that Katsidis power is going to make the diffence in this fight.

Got to agree there, he looked fine in the 10 round with Casamayor to me (Stamina wise). I think he could have done the 12 easily.

katsidiz only wins are against amonsot and graham earl in both fights he was hurt

conditioning: katsidiz has never gone 12 rounds while diaz has

defense/chin: katsidiz defense is poor and his chin is questionable plus his face gets cuts really easy
diaz defense is good and his chin is great hes faced many big punchers and has only been dropped once in his career

offense: katsidiz is a world class puncher but by no means a one punch ko guy amonsot and casamayor were dropped but never out cold
diaz victory is assured by his speed and his combinations on a guy with such a poor defense like katsidiz hes gonna be landing 4 5 punches combos easily

Of course he has gone twelve! How can you talk about a guy you have obviously never seen? He's been 10 twice and 12 twice. No problems in either at all. As hard in the twelfth as in the first.

Is that points or money? If thats real money and your not a wealthy business owner, then that in my opinion is a ****** bet to have taken. Do I favor Diaz to win? Yes, but not by a huge margin. And wouldn't be shocked if Katsidis won. Plus, I personally would be happy if fat boy hits the canvas, but I doubt it will happen. Sorry for the name calling but I just have this bad gutt feeling that my boy katasidis is going to lose tonight.

Thats not a good idea for this fight, this fight is more 50/50 then some people realize. I bet alot of money that Juan Diaz would stop Julio Diaz, but I was confident in that because I seen the two style match up and realized that it greatly favor Juan Diaz. But that is a different fight, stylistically for this fight, both have there pros and cons. Personally, I think that its insane to bet money on this fight... And I hope ElGran is a wealthy business owner or he might be punching walls tonight and getting hammered as hell if things don't go his way

I can't help it to think something is wrong with boxing when you had 2 great fights early in 08: Casamayor-Katsidis and Nate Campbell-Diaz but the losers are the ones who are fighting first, and each other.
I'd rather see Casamayor-Campbell but don't think this will happen. Who are those guys fighting anyway? If they are scheduled that is...

Casamayor and Campbell are fighting one week later in title fights for more money. Diaz and Katsidis are fighting to stay in contention. So what is wrong about that?

I agree man, I actually said to him in a thread the other day that it wasn't a good idea. The risk outweights the reward in this fight imo.
