The official ruling was that he failed to show up for the weigh-in the next morning. But Russell’s father and trainer, Gary Sr., scoffed at the notion that he lost the fight on the scales.
On Thursday, Campbell, who led the team to its worse performance in U.S. Olympic boxing history, was asked to step down from his position by Jim Millman, CEO of USA Boxing, and he agreed to retire. [details]
