He isn't your favourite boxer You even said you were doing it ahead of people saying Calzaghe was ducking him haha

On Topic: I think he is a very talented boxer, good speed and all. His fight with Hanshaw was entertaining as well, he showed some grit (He was troubled early) and fought well to win.

his fight with curtis stevens was one of the most boring fights i have ever seen. curtis couldn't cut off the ring, and dirrell just kept circling. neither guy landed anything the whole fight.

The win was Dirrell’s third successive stoppage after a much-criticised performance when he danced his way to a decision over the heavy handed but much shorter and slower Curtis Stevens. Dirrell was roundly booed by the fans that night.
I think he even went as far as saying "Who cares about the fans" in the post interview after the Stevens fight.

but he took care of business after that. I think he has a lot of potential to be a star in the boxing world. He has the looks, the speed, the power and skills. He can speak properly. He just needs to be marketed better.

Dirrell basically fought him discretely avoiding any pertinent exchanges and outquicked Stevens through out the fight.

There was nothing behind his shots because he wasn't quite willing to give one to take one so he let his hands go only very rarely when he was sure it would impress the judges and win him rounds.

And that's what he did, win rounds.

HBO was disgusted with him because there was little drama in the fight and basically no risk for little reward, although he got the victory.

This fight set him back in the eys of HBO for quite a while as the announcers
voiced their displeasure over his tactics.
With safer opponents he went for it, but he honestly did a Junior Witter versus Judah type thing on network tv and hbo didn't like it in the least.
He's fast has some pop and has a ton of tricky angles, but I thought many were expecting a much less safe performance from someone who got his chance to shine but was happy to eke out a decision.
