Winky Wright vs. Arthur Abraham in Early 2009?

It appears that Winky Wright (51-4-1, 25 KOs) may finally get back in the ring, but not until next year. HBO is holding a January date for Wright, and the opponent he seems to want is IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (27-0, 22 KOs). Wright has not fought since last July's decision loss to Bernard Hopkins. [details]

Wow, good to see Winky might finally fight again, but..

I think this fight will be pretty dull. Abraham will probably take it, But I wouldn't bet on it just yet.

I don't see the logic in taking the Wright fight before the PAvlik fight. Cal is not fighting Pav. After the Hop fight, Pav-Abraham can be made.

I wonder if they may try to set up a Double Header in January to hype the fight for later 2009.

It seems to me they both have similar styles... just abraham hits alot harder.

im winky biggest fan but hes simply lost his legs and he's probably even slower since it's been a while since he's last fought. i know against hopkins he was overweight but he slows down in each of his fights. but he always comes to fight no matter what so go winky!

According to Ult. Winky was about to fight Mundine?? I think BPP needs to get some better sources for info

Seriously this is good for Abraham. A nice chance to enhance his US-exposure. I'm a bit surprised that Winky wants that fight. The winky of old would likely outpoint AA but a rusty winky will be KTFO I'm afraid.

Yeah but I think Winky's guard is a little better.
