yeah he had an exciting style but exciting styles usually lead to defeat thats why the best fighters are usually defensive fighters Whitaker ,PBF,Jones etc

You've admitted to have never seen any other Liston fights aside from his two losses against Ali and maybe the KO wins over Patterson. He was in his mid-30's by then.

I don't see how he is being 'overrated' either, in his time yes but today no.

Tyson was never the same after he left his original corner and management, the **** conviction, prison anmd his own personal issues took away from his skills in the ring. he went from a young kid with a tremendous furture to a convicted rapist that every one wanted to see jailed. Imaine being atop the world at 21 only see how fast people will throw you too the wolves once the chips are down some. he never had anyone who cared about him except Cus and Rooney and Don King made sure he took him away from Rooney so he could **** and rob Mike all by himself. used abused and thrown in jail only to get out to be in debt. No longer fighting because he loved it but simply for money not greatness like he was beofre all that. You watch old dvd's or you tubes of Tyson before jail and while he was with Rooney. he jabbed moved bounced from side to side planted his back leg and shot punches from all angles up the middle and power in both hands. After Rooney he became flat footed had no head movement went from 217 to 230 and looked for one punch knockouts. If he didn't finish giuys by the 5th round he was in trouble and gassed. Split Tyson into two careers pre and post Rooney......Lefty

i don't see them as excuses but truths...You have seen the post fight interview with Buster and tyson he did anything but make excuses and Larry Merchant gave him every out to say I didn't trian my corner was horrible, the count was off. mike said he beat me fair and square he is the champ. I only stated my opinion sir. Like I said before this is a place we us *******s get to state our case about how we feel about the sport we know and love. In my opinion Tyson was the most exciting fighter I have ever seen bar none. A prime in shape Tyson managed by Rooney and Cus would have beaten Holy, Bowe and Lennox on the same night. The could have taken turns and none of them would have made it out of the 2 round......Holy before Tyson went to jail was much smaller and les bulky had less body weight was probably before he started using steriods to bulk up. Lewis had and alwys had a questionable chin. in their fight in 2002 Tyson had him running scared the first two rounds and shook him with a punch in the first round. Bowe had size strength and a descent chin he would have been a good fight but I still think tyson pre prison and with Rooney KO's him early in 4.....Lefty

I agree. In fact, if anything Liston is UNDERRATED, because most people just know him for getting beat by Ali.

I agree, Liston was a damn good fighter. Remembered for Quitting on his stool against a Young underdog named Cassius Clay, and then the controversy of the second fight. And look no further.
