Edwin Valero Wants The Big Names at 135-Pounds

On the shelf since his June battering of Japan's Takehiro Shimada, Edwin Valero is looking for much bigger fights at the lightweight limit of 135-pounds. He recently vacated his WBA super featherweight title, citing weight issues in his August 31 letter that was sent over to the sanctioning body. [details]

Maybe they should just get rid of the 130 pound division since everyone is moving up to chase Pacquiao.

I mean now the division basically consists of Soto. That's it really. Who else is there? Barrios? Alex Aurhur? lol

        LOL.

I find it surprising that Valero has yet to be in any kind of fight where we can see how good he truly is, hopefully he fights a live figher in his next fight. Like some have suggesteed a fight with Soto would be a start, even at 135.

barrios never makes weight....he is likely to officially move up to 135 since the big name 130lbers just moved up.......

guerrero, linares are already on 130......and luevano should move up too, so yeah, 130 is still interesting

Valeros big problem with moving up is getting the big names to fight him outside the U.S. All the top guys are currently fighting each other on American soil and he's the odd man out.He and Katsides in Australia would be huge providing he beats Diaz. But for Katsides it would be high risk, low reward at that point.Unless he was having big time weight problems I think he should've stayed at 130 awhile longer.
