  • Arthur Abraham Expects Tough Bout With Raul Marquez

IBF middleweight champion King Arthur Abraham (27-0, 22 KOs) is looking for his 28th win in as many fights when he takes on mandatory challenger Raul Marquez in Bamberg on October 4. Speaking at today´s official press conference in his home city, the 28-year-old said: “Marquez is a very experienced and tough boxer. I expect a hard-fought battle that will go the full distance but if there is a chance to win by knock-out I`ll go for it.”

Raul should be retired by now. How can he put himself through this ****. He was never that good, even as a jr.-middleweight. Now he's fighting bulldogs like Abraham.

I don't think this will be a tough fight.

He toughed it out in his last fight against a solid contender. I think he deserves his shot, and I expect him to put up a good fight. Mostly because he has a great chin, and if Abraham cant hurt you, he's not going to decisively beat you.

This is why I like Abraham, he's respectful. People like him are sparingly found in Boxing, he knows he has concussive power but he always intends to go the distance. He isn't arrogant, he doesn't say he's the best. He does express a desire to fight the best though.

The Heart the man has immense though, few people could fight 6-5 rounds with a broken jaw. It wasn't like when Ali had his jaw broken either (that was still bad) his jaw was at an angle and bleeding everywhere.

Wasn't he forced to fight? I thought someone said he wanted to quit but his corner forced him to fight.

naaa.. it was never like that.. it would be impossible to force him to fight... we arn't in Gladiator buddy

he wanted to quit thinkin it would go to the cards and he would win on points.. when he was told that no he would lose by TKO.. he then discussed with his corner and continued.
