Minto vs. McGee: what's REALLY wrong with the heavyweight division
It was announced today that contender Brian Minto will face tomato can Marcus McGee on Nov 1. I was hoping that he would face another 'top 50' heavyweight like himself, since he's had a steady diet of bums for his last several fights. A decent fighter like Monte Barrett or Cedric Boswell would be better opponent...
In an interview today Minto tried to justify the choice, saying McGee is a good fighter.
And on Friday we'll have Kevin Johnson against age 41 Bruce Seldon, who was KOed by Tye Fields several years ago.
What the sport of boxing, and especially the heavyweight division needs is more COMPETITIVE FIGHTS instead of garbage mismatches like this one!
