Has 2008 been a bad year for Boxing?

    Has it?

I mean I can only think of a three FOTY candidates, Margarito - Cotto, Marquez - Pac-man and Vasquez - Marquez.

Compared to the last 3 years I think 2008 has been the year of the boring fight!

Fights such as; Pavlik v Taylor II, Klitschko v Ibragmiov, Tarver v Woods, Calzaghe v Hopkins, De la Hoya V Forbes, Jones v Trinidad and Clottey v Judah have failed to live up to their billing and have not been very good.

    Do you agree?

No it wasnt bad for boxing. Inconsistant? Yes.

March was amazing. Vera/Lee, Marquez/Vasquez, Campbell/Diaz, Katsidis/Casamayor, and Marquez/Pacquiao were all great fights. Then it got slow until Cotto/Margarito, and it's been slow again until a good fall. It's about to pick up big time with interesting fights every week until 09.

Best time to be a sports fan imo with Football coming back.

It's been a very good year so far, but it's going to be an even better fall.

There's about 20-25 excellent matchups coming up between now and early December.
