Thats bull**** to the tenth degree. Look at Andre Ward cheap imitaion of Jones Jr but without power.

Its simple to see Roy was a puncher, he allowed 80 percent of his opponet to go the distance with him. He was so cautious that instead of going for the ko, he would lay back and punch the guy repetidly instead. But when he had a huge advantage over the middleweight who could hardly take his power he ko'd most all his middleweight opponet. Gets to Light heavyweight now he is not willing to take a risk in going for the ko cause he may get hurt cause now the light heavyweights can take Roys punch better then the middleweights and super middleweights.. I seen enough of Roy coming up to know that he had real ****en power anybody who disaggree is ignorant. Roys power got him a **** load of respect, just so happens that he had other attributes that stood out too.

Andre Dirrel will have an easy time at SMW, one of the weakest divisons in boxing. if Pav and Taylor move up though, then maybe not

his power is alwayss undermined because of his amazing handspeed. he started carrying his light heavy opponents after his KO of Hill.

I think that is a wildly presumptuous statement. Dirrell has shown nothing yet to suggest he can even compete at world championship level, let alone have an easy time. Lets wait and see what happens as he steps it up.

roy carried a LOT of opponents. that was disappointing sometimes but also hilarious at others, like when he was embarassing telesco with looping windmill punches and sticking his tongue out at him. foreman got so pissed, but i loved every second of it.

Its funny cause he tried to carry Richard Hall, but couldn't pul back enough from dropping him over and over again. i think he knew that fight could make a highlight video in itself and wanted more footie....

Then thats probably around the time i started to say wtf Roy what happened? And lost some respect for him as he just carried fighters. Even Foreman said its worse that Roy does this cause he giving them permenite damage for 12 round instead of a ko which isn't the same permenite damage.

I was a huge Roy fan, that guy was amazing, hated that he beat Toney but Roys skills and POWER won me over. But then once he started letting fighters off the hook is when i started to tune out.

Who's Roy Jones Jr and where is he from? Where can I watch some of his fights? Can mayweather or margarito beat him? How about a prime Vargas?

You name it. He's been "the ultimate counterpuncher", "an awesome body puncher", "a defensive master", "an attacking tornado", "the smartest boxer in history" etc etc.

Far be it from me to question any of this, but I always thought that in his prime he was mostly an unorthodox and supremely gifted offensive boxer, who nontheless was not at his best when placed definitively on the backfoot. He always seemed to me to rely mostly on his athleticism and natural skill, to the detriment of boxing fundamentals, particularly defensively. Not that it ever mattered!

Nowadays I see him as a fairly static orthodox boxer who boxes behind a high guard, has a very fast, crisp and snappy jab and can still unleash some excellent combinations when he wants to. I don't think he's some sort of tactical wizard/ counter puncher though....

                    Am I wrong?
Ummm...he was at his BEST going backward.

Wasn't he a natural counterpuncher? LOL
