this has been bothering me now ever since the fight happened. as we all know mayweather and dlh set the record back in may of 07 for the richest fight. but my question to all you is did it really earn that title. Personally for me i dont count that as the richest fight because of how it was promoted. they called it the fight to save boxing and the media was talking about how important this fight was to the sport and people were acting like it was the last big fight that would ever take place. it was like if this fight failed boxing would fall off the map forever. now in my opinion if this had just been promoted as another superfight and not some holy war to save a sport it wouldnt have done nearly as well. so the question to all of you is how many ppv buys do you think would have sold if it was just another fight?

It did a great PPV sales increase the popularity of boxing. Hope Pacman - Oscar does better -
Disagree. It was always going to do mega buys. You put Oscar in there with me and he will sell 600k. You put him in there with the p4p #1 guy and you get huge buys, as was the case.Comment

Yes they did because they worked their asses off in Press Tours and Press conferences and the 24/7 show.
They really went all out for this fight.
So yes they did and no Pac will not even come close to those numbers with Oscar.
Oh and PacmanISNT1. Joe Calzaghe is.

What the **** do you deserved it. Golden Boy Promotions promoted there fight as best as possible unlike Top Rank who won’t relase Cotto-Margarito fight and Arum sayins that Morales-Pacman will do over 500kComment
