The more **** I see on this forum, the less it ****ing surprises me, pal. I've been a member here for a few years, and I've been absolutely forced to take 2 or 3 breaks for several months at a time. Otherwise I eventually begin to be drawn into the nonsense that goes on around here, and I simply will NOT have that, no sir I will not.

Technically, though, you're 100% right, it was a split decision.
Comfortably ahead is 114-113 for Calzaghe?

I thought the other two cards were a couple points difference? I remember 115/112, maybe I'm just not remembering it right.

Anyway, my point was that Byrdwoman has had several questionable decisions, so using her as the rallying point for those who thought Hopkins won....not really solid ground for an argument.

I wont call it a lucky punch, any punch that is thrown with that kinda intent is meant to land, just the way it did with Tarver, but ur def right, he did in fact have his eyes closed.

And believe me, a head and a hard surface like cement and a ring canvas for that matter, which has absolutely no give whatsoever and not meant for each other. Further more so when u have no ability to brace yourself like in which Roy had none of in falling to the canvas after the right hand from Johnson.

I had no time to brace myself, it was head and concrete, concrete won in a bad way, I spent 2 nights in the hospital and suffered from cold sweats for a few days during which I would wake while sleeping. The head is not meant to hit such hard surfaces such as these. Point Blank!
The left that Sanders hit Wlad with he never saw coming and he was out cold for a few seconds but showed his huge heart by getting up. Sanders may not be a great fighter but the guy has a wicked left. Wlad never recovered from the first knockdown and lacked the defensive ability at that time to avoid getting stopped.

Your right, it was 115-112. Bad memory on my part.

There were media sources ringside (ESPN, Yahoo, and the AP)who scored it for Hopkins among others. So I wouldn't call Byrd's scoring outrageous or anything. I thought Giampa's 116-112 was more worthy of being a called a poor scoring decision.

The scores should've been unanimous in JC's favor since he clearly won 8 rounds.

The official scores were, Ted Gimza 115-112, Adalaide Byrd 113-114, Chuck Giampa 116-111

When Calzaghe went down in the first round obviously everyone following him was worried but these things happen and he showed what he was worth by turning it around and winning the fight

I was very surprised to see Calzaghe knocked down, and it worried me because I knew it would be a hard to score fight and KDs can be very important in that scenario. However, I knew that Calzaghe would come back strongly.

I agree....he got back up and made the adjustments he needed to make, but I still think B-Hop pulled it out, but I can see why the judges and so many others scored it for Joe...
