Translation.....Warren didn't want the fight, didn't care about legacy, he cared about making the most money he could from Joe....guess what Frank, Joe's tired of dancing on your strings. He claims Calzaghe stood to make more money with Pavlik? How? Even with purse parity, Roy's a much bigger name, HBO is backing this fight with a 24/7 series (they wouldn't have if it was Pavlik), and Joe doesn't have to split with Frank.

I wish the interviewer would've raked him through the coals and asked him why he sat on money (reportedly $4 million) from the Hopkins fight.
eveything you've said there is spot on mate, calzaghe is made for pavlik a plodding fighter who imo wouldn't win a round after round 6 if he was in with calzaghe.

warren treats his fighters like **** so it is really that much of a surprise when they turn around and leave him. the fight with hopkins or RJJ could have been made alot earlier than it was if it wasn't for fat frank.

its just like him to come out now and say that the fight with pavlik bring in more ??? when its clear that RJJ is a much bigger name and does more for joe's record and legacy.

agree with theboymartray said as well.

imo warren is stopping fighters from getting the recognition that thy deserve and is a hindrance to british boxing. most people that i know or discuss boxing with don't rate him highly and cant wait for someone else to take over the british scene.

Despite both Top Rank and Warren being gung-ho for Pavlik vs. Calzaghe.

Now if Joe slaps his way to a decision his name will be mentioned in hushed tones alongside Glen Johnson, Tarver, and Montell Griffin.
Three average Joe's who've got wins over Jones.

      So true. LMFSBAO.

Full credit to ALT-Assassin, a mature answer! I'm a Calzaghe fan and I see the Roy Jones fight a bigger and more difficult fight than Pavlik at this time. If both Joe and Kelly win their up coming fights, then I will look forward to a super fight in 2009!

What risk is there? According to all the Calzaghe fans Calz is the best boxer in the world who cannot be defeated by any man or beast.

How many more signs do we need to prove Calzaghe is ducking Pavlik?

Pretty obvious that Joe ducked Pavlik of his own accord. Warren, even when he was with Calzaghe, seemed to be pushing for the Pavlik fight.

Seems for once, you can't blame Warren for a fight not materialising.

Joe fought Kessler then moved up to face Hopkins and Jones ... why would he be afraid of the smaller Pavlik or duck him ??? when you are at the top like Joe is you have lots of great options when you take one of them that dosen't you ducked the others.

now is Pavlik ducking Kessler ??? kessler is dieing for this fight and i hear Pavlik wants to move up !!!

Ill break it down to you.

                    He ducked Kelly Pavlik who
                    1) is a tough young hungry prime age fighter
                    2) has two wins over Jermaine taylor who beat a younger fresher aged hopkins twice.
                    3) destroyed his own stablemate with ease.

                    to fight Roy Jones

Who definitely is out of his prime and has been ruined since his KOs

Hopkins who is at age 43 cant exchange or throw a combo without being winded the rest of the round.

I say as many other boxing fans will also say he avoided the fight. Joe was even considering it and wanted it to happen before the Lockett fight.

Instead he is currently fighting Roy Jones who couldnt KO a fat uot of shape Tito trinidad.
