The dude with arguably the best defense in boxing obtains a terrible injury, how ironic.

Watching someone as skilled as Calderon at slipping and dodging punches and making a much bigger, stronger man look silly is what boxing is all about. I have nothing but respect for Calderon and hope he reovers soon. The atmosphere for his fight was fantastic with the Puerto Ricans backing their man all the way with the very apt - oles after every wild shot was avoided like a matador does a bull.

Before a cheering crowd in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Calderon was in the seventh-round of a heated rematch with his Mexican rival Hugo Cazares when the two fighters clashed heads. Calderon suffered a deep cut in the middle of his forehead and the fight was quickly stopped. The judges scored the fight for Calderon by way of a unanimous technical-decision [details]
