    Edit: Aurelio Herrera was Chicano, but back in the day(and mostly to this day) you looked Mexican you were considered Mexican (though at one time Mexicans were classified as white but thats another subject.

          Lulac, league of latin american countries pushed for mexicans to be considerd white back in the 1910's. I forgot the reasn for that, Im thinking by being considerd white, the racism and would cease to exist and they would be treated as equal.

                At cyber boxing after you google aurelio herrera and click on these links, you'll see some hardcore boxing fans recall Garcia Smith.

                Mexicans went to court to be considered Mexican because when they went to court for an accusation, the jury was all white, and America thought this was ok, cause Mexicans were classified by government as white.
