I have no idea where you got the idea that punches to the arms and shoulders should be counted as anything other than a blocked punch. It is wrong.Of course they are. A guy cant take punches on the arm and shoulders all night long. Punches on the GLOVES are not scoring blows. You hit a guy enough times to the arms and they wont be able to keep them up or throw big punches. Cotto once ended a fight with a shoulder shot.Comment

Where do you draw the line though? Because if shoulder shots will be counted then fights like Ndou-Mayweather where Ndou had Mayweather against the rope and all he was hitting were arms and shoulder which clearly weren't effective. Or when Abraham uses his turtle guard and people try and break it with shots to the arms when Abraham can clearly keep his guard up the entire fight should they be counted? It's to hard to show which is an effective shoulder shot and which isn'tOf course they are. A guy cant take punches on the arm and shoulders all night long. Those numbers are a joke, I could make a good case for cazares in the last 2 rounds (6&7) but he couldnt and didnt land anything significant early on, Cazares was coming on late in the fight after his increase in aggression and could probably have won by KO if the fight had gone on.Comment
