I thought Ruiz did pretty good against Valuev.
            The fight was competitive.
He's a stern test for a lot of guys. I see no reason why he should retire.
He's way more than a gatekeeper and he's an old school pro so there's nothing wrong with up and comers testing their skills and fighting ability with him.

I've seen a ton of worse fighters than him. He isn't washed up.

Chagaev gets to fight Valuev next right?

              if that happens ^

the winner will probably face Ruiz.

I thought Golota won that fight myself. on the other hand, I think Ruiz should have two wins over Valuev.

Ruiz has to rematch Tua, that's the only fight the fans want to see out of him, then he should retire.

lets see, Ruiz is 36 lost a reasonably close Decision, I think we'll see him back.

plus already mentioned but the Heavyweight division is pretty wide open right now and considering John Ruiz didn't get kayo'd or lose in a blowout

                      why will he retire?

I wouldn't put it past John to fight 2 or 3 fights and try to line up the Chagaev-Valuev winner.
