I saw him have trouble.... He can't take a punch. I've said it all along, thats why he fights the way he does... He is pretty fast on his feet I'll say that but he's not quick.he is only able to run forward, no real side to side.....he doesn't know how to back up either, which is every pressure fighters downfall

I didn't say he didn't have trouble. He got KO'd. That is trouble. I said he had no trouble catching up to Mayweather. That is true.

I'd say Hatton was rated right about now, somewhere between 7-12 p4p in the world.
Hatton is a gifted pressure fighter who's skills are under rated, he does'nt just hug and hold. Most peeps who have followed his career from the start are annoyed at him because his lifestyle got got in the way of him being a top 3 p4p fighter over a long period of time.
Anyone who says hes crap knows nothing about boxing, go watch his fights upto kotsya when he had the hunger.
As for him fighting no one, look at it this way. Kotsya was top 3 p4p when Hatton fought him. Mayweather wanted no part of Kotsya, neither did Cotto. Hatton went after and beat THE man at 140. Hes also beaten Collazo and knocked him down, people are for some reason calling Collazo a top ww these days yet Hatton gets no credit for going over to the us and beating a man so much bigger in his own back yard. He fought Castillo to get the Floyd fight. Then he got Floyd. Yes he got beat but he did'nt disgrace himself, he went trying to win.
People criticise Hatton yet rave about Cotto but look at it this way, Cottos best win was against Mosley who wasn't one of the best p4p when he beat him. Cotto also stayed away from Tszu and stayed away from Mayweather. Cotto got beat of Marg who is deffo no Floyd. Cotto also quit against Floyd where has Hatton went out on his shield trying to beat Floyd.
Thin about what your saying and know what your talking about please before posting ****e

ill be the first to say hatton is overrated. he was never lb-for-lb material imo and cannot beat elite (prime) fighters. his best victories were against over-the-hill or inactive fighters.

that being said, he definately doesn't suck. he is world class. he hung in there with collazo and squeaked out a victory against a bonafide world champion, though i think luis won to be honest. he lasted 10 rounds with floyd under some biased refereeing. Though he was eventually totally outclassed, he was getting floyd startled early on. that being said, i don't think a different ref would have changed the outcome. floyd is the best in the world, and ricky is at the bottom of the elite, or just under the elite level. i mean, i hate hatton's hug-n-hold style sometimes and think he gets away with murder in england, but joe went a tad overboard with that one.

anyway, hatton is basically hit-or-miss in terms of excitement. he can be one of the most exciting fighters in the world, or sloppy and looking to hold all night long. i also think his best years are behind him. with his aggressive, come-forward style, there's only so many years you can be competitive at the top level in this sport and i think its starting to catch up with him (especially when you factor in the yo-yo dieting, which is devestating on the body). i think paulie has what it takes to outbox him for the majority of 12 rounds when they meet up....

Hatton was over-rated but nowhere as bad as people make him out to be. He may not be lb for lb material anymore but was once (and is elite level, byt near the bottom). Like Abadgar said, Hatton had no trouble keeping up with Mayweather, Mayweather wasn't to fast for him, the problem was his defence and inside work was to good for Hatton. Hatton will demolish Paulie M, simply because Paulie won't be able to get Hatton off him and hasn't got the inside/defence skills of Mayweather. Thats why I predict a ko/tko, but because of the shamble of his team, if he costs me 30k points, he in for it. (hitman lol).

Also he won the collazo fight, he threw more punches, landed more punches, and was more accurate. Stop basing round 12 as the outcome of the fight.
