I Was Starting To Really Respect Antonio Margarito

Especially the way he dethroned Cotto, but like many fighters what I have come to understand about him is that he picks his fights just like everybody else does and will do whatever it takes to hold on to a belt. Margarito is no beast, he isnt most feared. In Margarito's eyes Williams and Santos are most feared. If not then why not avenge your losses instead of fighting guys you have already beaten? Makes no sense to me, other than the fact you may think you can get two belts by beating Clottey, who just may shock you again.

Margarito has been getting too much credit, if you want my respect back go fight either Williams or Santos instead of trying to milk your belt. You did that the first time by fighting guys like Johnson, Lewis and other no names who were WAY smaller than you, go fight in a weight class you belong in or fight Paul Williams, the man who has given you your best payday and continues to put food on you and your wife's table not to mention your little boy, do the right thing Tony.

He wants Santos to come down but I don't think Santos can make weight or if he does he'll be too weight drained and Margarito knows this.

yeah he "picks his fights" which is why he fought williams in the first place. Remember, Williams turned down the rematch and is now going to fight the guy even YOU said was beating him untill he "hurt his hand". bunch of ****in hypocrites.

I know everyone jumped on the tony train, sure his win over Cotto was impressive there's no doubting that. But as soon as he tastes victory and wins a belt he plays it safe.

No I havent forgotten this and I understand it, but dont say Floyd ran when Margo was looking for an opportunity himself, but he doesnt give those opportunities when he should, cant have it both ways.

If Margarito fights Williams, He would be ducking Clottey

Santos is a non factor unless he joins the welterweight division. And I agree with this, Tony is about to fight a guy lots of people claim can beat him easily ("just look at the first four rounds"). And now that Oscar is gone chances are he fights Williams in early 09 and both guys make good money, the only reason he mentioned Santos was because they were calling him out, but even he said he wasn't thinking about Santos in the article.

He was beating him and if you look at the fight again Clottey still should have gotten the nod because Margarito wasnt landing anything despite a one handed Clottey. Remember Margarito missed over 1300 times in that fight, freaking shame.
