    is manny/dlh good for boxing?

I woke early yesterday morning and on sportscenter dan rafeal said this fight is big for boxing's popularity. he said that DLH is the most popular fighter and hes fighting the best fighter in manny...anyone agree with him?

I think its good for boxing mainstream wise but not for real fans of the sport...

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    also, as a side question....

how do you see manny fighting DLH? do you think he will change his style?

good question...i agree with what you said. I think that anytime de la hoya fights its good for the sport of boxing but not for the real fans. Im not sure what strategy manny will use but i hope he wins.

It will probably attract people outside of the hardcore fans towards it. But the real fans know that it's all smoke and mirrors. A sham.

from the standpoint of 'any publicity is good publicity' then yes

from the standpoint of showing the rest of the world that boxing has changed and its no longer a circus, then hell naw

It will be good for boxing up until it ends violently and early. It might only take until the weigh in for people to see how much of a mismatch it is. Of course casual fans won't understand why boxing fans complain when they both weigh in around 145-147 at the weigh in, but once De La Hoya outweighs him by 15 pounds on fight night, it should be pretty obvious why

You're very adament about your predictions on this fight. But, what if Pacqaio actually pulls off the big upset?...
