Margarito just wasn't being beat that night. It is what it is. Cotto made mistakes trying to counter too much when he should've tried to be the aggressor at times because when he got shots off, they were landing flush (a lot more than Margarito's punches were). But Marg's body shots did a number on Cotto later in the fight and made the difference in the end.

But to the people who think Margarito beats him every time, I don't buy it. Cotto is only going to improve from here, it's his 1st loss. I think Cotto can recoup and work on his mistakes and take a win over Margarito.

Remember guys, this WASN'T a lop-sided fight contrary to what some people made it out to be.

Exactly...Yes Margarito broke his nose but come on now... how often is that the case? Cotto landed in the center of that ******s face all night, he did not get that "break" that Margo got. THe fact that Cotto fought 9 rounds with a busted up nose is VERY key in Margs victory. It certainly did NOT help Cotto's stamina. Nor did the Medicine they put in his nose to stop the flow of blood.

Cotto had Margarito looking like a kid at a cranival who stepped in with an Elite for $5 when he fought in the center... bap bap bap unanswered blows.

Cotto is the BETTER fighter and will avenge this BS loss.

The fans like this are just simply wearing those Mexican Tequila goggles....The one thing that has been taught to us through out boxing history is that anyone can beat anyone.....Cotto surely is the more skilled boxer and he has the heavier hands of the two....h ejust did not excute his game plan or maybe his game plan was the wrong one? In everyones eyes he out the first 5 rounds in the bank and won at least 2 out of the last 5....he was ahead on the socre cards by 1 point when he took that knee in tyhe 11th round. SO HE WAS WINNING THE FIGHT MY MAN!!!!!! To say he simply cannot beat margarito is not a true statment at all. If he would have held towards the later rounds rahter then back himself up to the ropes and get cornered leaning into uppercuts...If he would have turned his man which he did a few times but was content with just turning him and moving instead of firing at him in the corner.......If he would have tried to do some body work doubling up on his hooks to the body rather then 1 2 that concrete head of margarito maybe Marg slows enough for Cotto to elude him in the later rounds...In short he has the stuff to beat him but not the ring experience or the trainer to do so...Another traine would have saw what he was doing wrong and instead of havinghis fighter absorb so much punsihment would have said [SIZE="6"]TIE HIM UP ON THE INSIDE!!!!! well i guess the judges were at another fight, cus at the time of the stopage margarito was up two rounds on 2 cards and tied at another....so no he was not winning the fight.

I mean I don't take anything away from Margarito. he just wasn't going down and he payed a lot of dues to get where he is. Sometimes that's just how life works.

I just think Cotto will rebound from this loss and look better than ever. If he can beat Margarito in a rematch, we're already looking at a Trilogy which means money for both guys, which I highly doubt they'll turn down.

Cotto must improve the way he leans with his chin exposed. That is how margarito was able to land uppercuts all night.
