DLH-Pacquiao is a travesty and a disgrace to boxing

On the one hand we have Manny Pacquiao, a fighter who only recently moved to 135. On the other we have Oscar Delahoya, who fights so few times that it seems like it's own yearly holiday when he decides to step into the ring. A DLH who already lost to the last p4p best fighter. A DLH who has his last three wins coming over Steve Forbes (lol) Ricardo Mayorga (didn't mean as much at that point) and a questionable win over Felix Sturm. Why does he deserve this fight? Another question: Why is he ASKIG for this fight? It's as if he's gone down the list of fighters that can beat him:

    Bernard Hopkins (bigger guys)- check
    Mayweather (smaller guys)- check
Shane Mosley (quicker guys) - check

So now he has to move even lower down the list. Hmm.. let's find a deceptive fight that will look like a great win on paper, right? Right. Voila- DLH has created another circus sideshow act.

I can understand why Manny took the fight, but for Oscar- what is the motivation? The money? Oscar doesn't need that. Is it the fame? Nah.. And anybody who spews that BS about it being a 'revenge' match will get a nice chuckle from me. All I see coming from this fight is DLH's exploitation of his power and his unwillingness to let go of a career that has failed on every big stage. So what he's doing now is attempting to create a big stage that makes it seem like a win on it would mean something. But the real fans know. They know what this fight means- nothing. And they know that at the end of the day, it's just a nostalgic fighter's sad attempt at trying to pick up the pieces of what has ultimately been a disappointing career.

that's alot of money to turn down...but PAC and Roach are as responsible for this fight happening as DLH...we already know that DLH would weasel out of any legit challenges around his weight class...PAC gave him that out

PAC should have taken a page out of Hatton's book and told Oscar to fokk off...IMO, taking care of 135 business (winner of JMM-Casa then winner of Nate-Guzman) + a hatton fight could have gotten him that $20mil total payout...

but hey, it is what it is...not bad for a last minute replacement from a few years ago...

Makaveli, I see what you're saying, but I still don't think that Pac is the man who holds equal responsibility. Not many would resist a DLH fight.

hatton and floyd (the rematch) did...if not equal, he still has to shoulder some of the blame...

but then again, a miracle might happen...he gets his hand raised and we are all happy to play the fool...
