you can not drop 30 pounds of solid muscle (tarvers fat 225 with a 30% body fat composition is another story) and retain your strength, reflexes, and/or speed- no way. i am a personal trainer and know a lot about training and it is absurd that a champion at that level was not advised better (i wonder why mackie shilstone didnt agree to help him train for that fight- because he knew it was insane).
roy learned the hard way that he wasn't invincible and that even someone with his unprecedented skill has too follow human training principles. he ruined his body leading up to that first fight with HORRENDOUS training habits. he should have taken at LEAST 8 months thereafter to recover from detroying his body for the first fight before rematching Milk Dud.
