why would he retire if he beat Pacquiao?

most likely the above is accurate, as Margarito, Mayweather or even Hatton would be logical options. I could see it. Plus if DLH kayo's Manny it'll make De La Hoya appear rejuvenated.

*kinda scary though that this article is talking about past December 6th.

                  exactly!

this just in there's no undercard for the December 6th fight.

and instead a 2 hour slide show highlighting De La Hoya's career will be put in it's place

followed by the Pacquiao vs De La Hoya fight of course.

I like Oscar. The 2 times that I have met him he has been really cool. Took pics and signed a picture that I took with him a couple of years before. I dont want to talk down on Oscar but Ricky and Pac are just too small. I'll be happy if he fights Sturm over these 2.

I definitely see Oscar knocking out Pacman in this fight. Maybe in 6-8 rounds. There will be lots of hype for this fight and Pacman will go out fighting. I don't see Oscar retiring. I honestly see one more fight on Cinco de Mayo with Oscar taking on Mayweather (rematch with Floyd sr. in corner), Chavez Jr., or even Hatton in Mexico City.
