Hopes For De La Hoya To Fight Beyond The Pacquiao Bout

While Oscar De La Hoya is set to announce his December 6 bout with Manny Pacquiao, scheduled to be Oscar's final career fight - his right hand men, Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer and VP/matchmaker Eric Gomez, hope that Oscar has more mega-fights left in him, which may or may not indicate some future action in 2009 if the right fights come along. Floyd only did enough to win, and he still won 8 rounds. So they can kiss my ass with the "fight could have gone either way" bull****.

farewell fight December 6th my ass!

i knew it, next up though should be Hatton-De La Hoya as it'll be another high profile meaningless fight with one of the primary objectives to make as much money as possible.

I remember Oscar towering Floyd at the weigh in. I can't imagine anyone feeling alright for buying this fight when Oscar towers even higher over Pacman. There should be a law against these types of showoffs. I guess they are waiting for someone to be killed or seriously injured in these matches... Not everyone is a defensive genius like Floyd was to stand with a much bigger guy like Oscar. Pacman will be hit ALLOT in the course of the fight and i can only imagine how he's gonna deal with it.

I said this yesterday in my own thread. I dont think this is Oscar's last fight, and he is using this fight against whomever as a stepping stone to his next fight with either Margarito or Floyd.
