    Who is "The Fisherman" ??

I was kind of sparring today.. it was me on offense vs 2 bigger guys that did defense only. Afterwards an older guy told me i remind him of an old fighter named "The Fisherman" .. he said he would be really calm before the fight and then when the bell rang he would throw every punch in the book. He also said i was really smooth! If any of you know who he is could you describe him to me please?!! his style, who he fought, etc. thanks!

Peter "The Fisherman" Johansson was known for his weak chin, low stamina and soft punches. He had an incredible 2-44 record.

      well,

You must be a beginner to be in a situation where it's 2 guys on defense against one guy on offense, but I like the idea of that drill. But not so much, you see....Full contact sparring is really the only, only way to prepare yourself for the world you are stepping into...Roll out on your gym if they don't do this, or prepare to be Zelenoff'd.

I'd take it as a compliment. It's a great, great attribute to be able to ACT CALM, because NOBODY IS before a fight. The greatest professional EVER at doing this was George Foreman. This brutha would lean up on the ropes before the bell rang for round one like he didn't have a care in the world, and was just hanging out somewhere. ****ing classic. You get a guy in front of you that you know is a bad mother****er acting that calm, I don't give a **** WHO you are, it's gonna **** with you mentally. That was Tyson and Ali's biggest best attributes was making their opponents perceive them as invincible. Foreman played himself the best though, I loved the Wolf in sheep's clothing type ****.........Man, if only there would be another George Foreman....I respect the **** out that dude. Yeah, he mighta said honkey and been racist at times, but you know what? I like the guy. I like how he fights and I like how he punches, he comes in, grunts, throws punches, goes home...(merchant)...

Baddest heavyweight to ever lace them up was Big George. Damn skippy. woah, im ranting, i caught myself...lol

well be might have been referring to "The Fighting Fisherman" Yvon Durelle. He was a light heavyweight that fought in the 40's-60's. He won numerious Canadian titles and was most known for giving Archie Moore the fight of his life in what most consider one of the best fights of all time.

This "Fisherman" ended his career with a record of 90-24-2 (51KO's).

Yvon Durelle was the Fighting Fisherman. He is mostly known for his first fight with Archie Moore.

                  EDIT: Too slow.
