    do you consider hopkins defense

    to be the philly shell? he does roll his shoulders

    or is it a mixture of the philly shell and something else?

    his defense is very underated

    ive never seen him bleeding or bruised up

    no.bhop has always been a grade a fighter.he's had great defense great offense when he wanted and was dirty too.i don't even know why they call it philly shell when its michigan fighters like toney and floyd that popularized that ****.

          I don't know why Hopkins doesn't just keep his hands down and head butt his opponents punches.

          He could do a lot of damage doing that.

            Maybe that's why Calzaghe was afraid to actually land any of those punches on his head. Good call.

                His defence is good, his whole game is defensive, but in the Calzaghe fight he basically just ran away for 10 rounds. Does that make him a tactical genius?

                  It makes him an old man with tired arms against a very fast fighter. Still, he landed the harder punches and did have moments of defensive genius in that fight.

                    funny you say that, calzaghe was the one rabbit slapping hopkins and even admitted that he low blowed hopkins as retaliation for being knocked down. And yet hopkins was the dirty fighter?
