what if: Jose Luis Castillo vs. Miguel Cotto @ 140 in '02?

what if we take the 2002 Castillo that fought Mayweather, move him up at 140, to fight the 2002 140 version of Cotto (I dont think Cotto was having weight issues in 2002, yet)

remember, castillo went to 147, for 3 fights (from 2003 to early 2004), right after the 2nd mayweather fight, and he knocked all 3 of those 147ers out (but they weren't really names)

    who takes this cake?

*** oh god, sorry guys. i COMPLETELY forgot about the castillo/corrales fights in 2005!!! i meant to compare the 2005 castillo vs. the 2005 cotto. and, i failed to realize that 2002 was way too early in cotto's career...

i'd like to make a new one, if that's ok.

Cotto had only been a Pro for 1 yr..too inexperienced for a vet like Castillo at the time..

I say Castillo by UD back in 02..

    04-05 Cotto by KO

Excellent match up, Castillo would stop him in a good fight or win a clear, but exciting UD, like the Lazcano fight.

Cotto turned pro in 01. He was still raw in 02. JLC either TKO or UD. POINT BLANK. Cotto hadnt faced big competition yet.

Cotto would have been too inexperienced at that point to win.

Castillo never proved **** at 140. But like others have mentioned that was very early in Cotto's career.
