I really hope Kermit can recover from his last fight and find that explosiveness he has and I see no reason why he can't win a world title.
Exactly. The fight is a tune-up. I remember Margarito tuned-up against Golden Johnson and that was a slaughter.

This should be good fight for cintron to get his confidence back...
if he's impressive, which more than likely will be the case, then the cotto fight looks even better

they should both fight a doubleheader in PR
        Good idea.
I still think Cotto should fight Yuriy Nuzhnenko next.
He was his manditory earlier this year.

Has anyone heard anything new about Yuriy?

Supposedly N'Dou was harassing Malignaggi non-stop for a rematch and threatened to sue for some reason.
At least that's what I read before watching Paulie fight him.

          There was a rematch clause.

It'll be interesting to see if Cintron has learnt that you can't just blast everyone out in the first round. He needs to work on his jab and on developing a plan B.

Then again N'Dou is above his best weight and was knocked down by Malignaggi so...it may be quick and one sided. I hope not, N'Dou did show a good chin against Cotto so it may go the distance.

Unfortunately, this fight won't teach him much, as he probably will blow N'Dou out in the first couple of rounds, but I get what you mean. He's got to learn that there's a little more to winning than just throwing bombs at your opponent's chin...if only he didn't pack so much power, I think he'd have figured this out long ago. He fell in love with his own power.

Still, I don't think it would've helped him much against Margarito, in either fight. He (Marg) is just too tough, and near impossible to hurt upstairs. I really think Cintron could beat him, but to do it, he's got to throw everything downstairs, rather than devoting all his work to Margarito's chin....you won't do much damage upstairs to Antonio, but if Cintron were to work a specific spot on the body constantly I think he could take him out before the 7th or 8th round. Cintron's got fantastic power for his weight class, and if he were to pound on Margarito's liver and nothing else, it would take a toll quickly, I think.

Naw, he's not soft...inexperienced, certainly, and easily baffled, but I don't see him as soft at all. Considering Margarito is about as tough as nails and pretty heavy handed (not big 1 punch KO power, but every punch thrown hard), I can understand the losses. He just played the wrong game with Margarito, thinking he could hit him with the right shot to the chin and take him out. Like I said in the other post, he should've pounded the **** out of Margarito's liver and nothing else. Worst case scenario, he takes some of the steam out of Magarito and at least gets to finish on his feet. Best case scenario, he hurts Margarito enough to the body that he starts keeping his guard low, gets gassed much earlier, and Kermit finally gets to put Antonio on his ass for a 10 count.

Of course he's not finished. Margarito is too tough to be KO'd as easily as Cintron was expecting, that's all. The only real crime is that he (Cintron) tried to do the same thing the second time, knowing how badly it went the first time. Even so, I blame this on his trainer in large part.

Rofl. This must be the biggest difference between two fights ever.

Malignaggi's slaps and now Cintron's hayemakers.
