Carl Froch: "Joe Calzaghe Should Fight Me or Pavlik"

Unbeaten super middleweight Carl "The Cobra" Froch is upset with the recent career decision made by his UK rival, Joe Calzaghe. Froch says that Calzaghe's November 8 bout with Roy Jones Jr. is a meaningless fight for his career. According to Froch, Jones should retire and Calzaghe is a hypocrite. He points to some comments made by Calzaghe, within the Welsh fighter's autobiography, where Calzaghe said a knockout of Jones means nothing because two other fighters have already knocked him out. LOL, Taylor don't want to fight you so neither will Calzaghe.

I admitt it: He's got some balls to talk crap like that. My money would be on his opponent however, if he fought anyone he mentioned in his little rant.

Froch is the mandatory fighter. He's right what he's saying, but Froch should put Taylor's lights out before he chases Joe.

I agree with froch. I hate it when fighters decide to retire without officially passing the torch. I believe a fighter should let a loss decide his retirement. Marciano should have fought till someone beat him, Lewis should have done the same and so should Mayweather and Calzaghe. Being scared of losing only hurts their legacy more than anything. Guys like Pep, Ali, Robinson had plenty of losses between them and they're probably the top 3 p4p fighters all-time cuz they weren't scared of losing and fought all challengers even when they were way past their primes.

Fighters should fight on until they lose?

That's a ludicrous statement in every way, idealistic and naive at best.

Froch's predictably **** talking and head line grabbing, it's what he does because he's so desperate at a shot at a big name. I feel sorry for him as he deserves a fight, but not Calzaghe at this stage, he's too far down the list. He should be talking about guys like Pavlik, Taylor, Abraham, and Kessler.
