    my theory of true greatness

    my theory of true greatness

okay my theory is to have been truly great you need to have been through adversity and bounced back time and time again or at least had one fight where people counted you out or you had suffered a devastating defeat only to bounce back even stronger

Barrera was considered one of the best p4p fighters at the time but he got KTFO by Junior Jones came back in a rematch and lost a close but clear decision to Jones dusted himself down and went onto beat Morales allthough he did not get the decision he clearly won the fight then he upset the betting favourite Naseem Hamed considered the best FW at the time

Barrera IMO is a true legend who fought and beat the best but more importantly he was able to regroup after his losses and be a major force once again beating some of the best fighters of his generation

Evander Holyfield is just an ubelievable human being the way he has bounced back from his defeats and disappointment he could have called quits when Rid**** Bowe beat him but like MAB he dusted himself down time and agan and came back to beat Bowe and Tyson at the age of 34 when a lot of people viewed him as a ring worn veteran who had been in too many wars ,he also had to come back and regroup after the Moorer loss Holy pasted the crap outta Moorer in the 2nd fight aswell

Holy went onto solidify his greatness because above all he never quit and never stopped believing in himself

SRL my all time favourite fighter lost to a legendary fighter in Duran only to come back and win a rematch but his defining moment came when he beat Marvin Hagler two weight divisons north of his natural weight and after a 2 year lay off with no tune up what so ever

Lennox Lewis aswell the way he came back after his Ko loss to McCall infact you could say that loss was the making of Lewis cause he regrouped and worked on his craft to become one of the best pugilists the HW divison has ever seen he beat McCall to avenge his loss then he beat the legendary Evander Holyfield with relative ease and he looked an absolute beast Ko'ing Golota ,Botha ,Grant

he had to come back from adversity once again when he was upset by Rahman in south africa what a finish that was and what a statemenet of his credentials as one of the best HW of alltime he avenged his loss in style
